HEART TO HEART TALK: Saving CHD Children
Giving a new lease of life to children born with CHD or Congenital Heart Disorder by funding lakhs of rupees for their operations
Imagine your baby turning blue every time he or she breathes and you watching helplessly, perfectly knowing you cannot afford an operation that could actually bring back your little one healthy and hearty! Bikram Dasgupta on a personal level knows what parents of CHD babies go through, as one of his twin sons was diagnosed with CHD as a baby. And once operated upon, those blue fingers turned to glow healthy red, and the relief of a father to watch his son turn into the pink of health, was a memory that remains with BDG forever.
BDG Foundation in collaboration with Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Centres for Child Heart Care has extended its help to save lives of children born with CHD by performing operations that can run into lakhs, completely for free. Most parents are unable to afford such costly operations and helplessly witness their children dying. In India, 1 out of 100 children are born with CHD every year. These statistics shows how many children are out there, who require this live saving surgery at the earliest. BDG is committed to save these children through his unique philanthropy in healthcare sector.

Calcutta Broadway Youth Scholarship – first of its kind scholarship, funding entire fees of talented students in higher education and performing arts
BDG knows there are many talented youths out there who have it all, to excel in higher education, or any stream of performing arts, but cannot afford the courses needed to hone up their skills and educate themselves to reach the pinnacle of success. He understands the pain of having it all within you, yet not the money to earn the degree. As a youth motivator and an IIT and Harvard Business School alumnus himself, passionate about theatre, music and dance, Bikram Dasgupta decided to float the Calcutta Broadway Youth Scholarship meant for talent driven financial support to intelligent, needy, creative and meritorious youngsters.
If you have that fire in you to excel, but your parents cannot afford the expenses of your course, you can write to BDG Foundation or Calcutta Broadway and the team will access your eligibility. Already meritorious students have been benefitted by Calcutta Broadway Youth Scholarship across India, from Kerala to Kolkata.
